Office of the Independent Special Interlocutor

That year, Prince found himself in court for allowing his child who had run away from the school to remain at large: At the sitting of the assize court this morning William Prince, of St. Peter’s reserve, was charged with unlawfully and willingly obstructing Thomas Peebles, a peace officer, in the execution of duty as such peace officer. The trouble arose over a boy of Prince’s who had run away from an Indian school at which he had been placed and had gone home, when the peace officer was sent after him. When the case was called Mr. Maclean, on behalf of the crown, asked for a stay of proceedings, and Prince was set at liberty.
